London, UK – The X Factor released an extended clip of Harry Styles' original audition for the show, and it is everything.

Over 12 years ago, the young pop sensation captivated audiences when he tried out for the UK version of the music competition show, singing a rendition of Stevie Wonder's Isn't She Lovely.

A never-before-seen extended clip of his audition was shared to YouTube on Sunday by the X Factor, revealing that Styles originally began his journey with a different song – and got an incredible chance to start over!

The clip begins with a pre-audition interview, where a 16-year-old Styles - who was as charming and then as he is now – shares his love for performing and praised his mom for believing in him.

As he takes the stage in footage from 2010 that was previously unreleased, he begins answering questions from panelist and show creator Simon Cowell. He talks about his then-job working at a bakery, making the judges' panel and live audience laugh.

He also expresses his aspirations to attend college to study "law, sociology, business, and something else. But I'm not sure yet."

Styles then goes into a brief cover of Train's song Hey, Soul Sister, which doesn't start off too well.

Luckily, Cowell seemed to see something in the quirky teenager.

Cowell saw the teen's rocky start, and decided to give him another shot.

"I don't know whether it's the track that's throwing you, but can I hear something just you, without any music?" he asks, which leads to Styles delivering a much stronger a cappella version of Isn't She Lovely.

While panelist Louis Walsh voted "No" on Styles, Nicole Scherzinger and Cowell voted "Yes," moving him onto the next round.

Cowell also commented that with a bit of vocal coaching, the young Styles could eventually be very good.

Styles has since spent the past 12 years improving and has become a far bigger star than anyone in the room could have imagined – as demonstrated on his latest hit album, Harry's House.
