"It was so painful after we broke up," the 53-year-old star told streaming service Apple Music of her new husband.

"Once we called off that wedding 20 years ago, I was — it was the biggest heartbreak of my life. I honestly felt like I was going to die," Jennifer said.

"It sent me on a spiral for the next 18 years where I just couldn't get it right," she explained, saying she also felt limited in her creativity as a musician.

"But now, 20 years later, it does have a happy ending. It has the most would-never-happen-in-Hollywood ending," she added of her wedding this summer to Ben.

On Friday, twenty years to the day after the release of her album This Is Me ... Then, J.Lo announced an follow-up album coming in 2023, This Is Me ... Now.

"Twenty years ago, I fell in love with the love of my life," Lopez explained. "The reason we're here is because I want to capture this moment in time because it is even better than the first time."

With her new album, she wants to encourage fans to never give up hope on a great love, she said. "True love does exist and some things do last forever and that's real."

Ben and Jen were engaged twenty years ago, but called things off before they walked down the aisle. After sliding into her emails in 2021, the two reunited, and Ben got down on one knee again after less than a year.

In July, the two got married in a secret wedding in Las Vegas, followed a month later by a bigger ceremony with friends and family in Georgia.
