Los Angeles, California - Just in time for her court hearing in her ongoing guardianship battle with her father, Britney Spears revealed her new hairdo on Instagram.

The 39-year-old pop star posted a three new selfies on Wednesday that showed off her new hair cut.

The shoulder-length do is a big change for Britney and it looks great! Her boyfriend Sam Asghari certainly thought so: "I love it," he wrote in the replies. Many of her fans agree and the enthusiastic reactions came pouring in. The first selfie, shot against an intense red background, has over 550,000 likes.

In the post, Britney wrote, "Cut my hair !!!! You know what they say .... out with the old .... in with the new !!!!! Now let us pray."

Some of her followers took up the theme of praying and restated their dedication to a long-running cause: the #FreeBritney campaign.

But other fans saw more reasons for concern in Britney's change of style. One simply wrote "red alarm" and another insisted that "this isn't normal behavior."

And still others simply pushed the idea: "this is not Britney."

According to People Magazine, Wednesday saw the latest court hearing revolving around James Spears' control over his daughter's assets. Although a judge denied Britney's request to release her from his legal guardianship in November, she is still fighting to regain full power over her life.
