Steubenville, Ohio - A Central Catholic High School Spanish teacher from Steubenville, Ohio, was arrested on Friday morning for reportedly having sex with a 15-year-old student.

Lauren Knight, the prosecutor in charge of the Harrison County Sheriff's Office, confirmed that Corissa McCalister (21) has been charged with two counts of sexual battery.

According to WTRF, none of the alleged incidents happened on school grounds.

The key incident occurred on March 30, 2021, when McCalister drove the 15-year-old home after a track meet at Edison Local School.

Before dropping the child off, McCalister parked at Harrison County Fair ground in Cadiz, Ohio, where the two reportedly had sexual intercourse in her car.

No information about the second assault has been released yet.

The crime came to light when the victim's mother contacted school officials about the allegations. The staff then forwarded the information to the Harrison County Sheriff's Office.

Meanwhile, Steubenville Bishop Jeffrey M. Monforton expressed his sympathy for the family of the teenager. In a press release, obtained by WCYB, he wrote that he would be praying for the victim and the victim's family.

There have been no other victims who have come forward as of yet.

McCalister has since been released from jail after posting a bond of $10,000. The investigation is ongoing.
