Saint Louis, Missouri - The St. Louis Cardinals went big for a much-needed win at home against the Nationals.

Five-time All-Star Nolan Arenado (29) and the Cards were swinging like crazy Tuesday night, running up the score and the hit count. They finally broke their three-game losing streak in the process.

Arenado is definitely fitting right into "Redbird red" since being traded to St. Louis from Colorado, shortly before the season started.

Coming into Tuesday night's game, the Cardinals had been going through a small slump and were without a win since last Thursday. They put all that behind them in a big way, destroying the Nationals 14-1.

Arenado went 2-3, including a walk and a 2-run homer in the Cardinals' win. Fellow All-Stars Paul Goldschmidt and Matt Carpenter also had hot bats, each swinging for home runs and 3 RBIs apiece.

Josh Harrison went 3-4, driving in 2 runs and Juan Soto batted in the only other run for the Nationals, in a losing effort.

These two teams go back at it again, Wednesday afternoon.

The Braves suffered their second-straight loss, this time off the Marlins 14-8.

In Kansas City, the Angels racked up 12 hits in the game, but couldn't get the win against the Royals, who came out on top 3-2.

Cleveland and Chicago went to extra innings with the Indians scoring in the top of the tenth to get the 2-0 shutout over the White Sox.

The Tigers were too much for the Astros in Houston, winning 8-1. And the Red Sox were able to get the 4-2 victory over the Twins.

Meanwhile, Athletics are definitely back on track with four wins in a row, beating the Diamondbacks 7-5. And the Pirates handed the Padres their first loss in five games 8-4.

The Blue Jays took care of the Yankees 7-4, while the Rangers snapped their four-game skid by defeating the Rays 8-3.

In Milwaukee, the Cubs just edged out a 3-2 win over the Brewers. And the Giants held off the Reds with a 7-6 win.

It's now four-straight wins for the defending champion Dodgers as they got the shutout over the Rockies 7-0.

The Mets had a doubleheader against the Phillies, winning both games 4-3 in the first game, then shutting them out 4-0 in the second.

The Orioles and Mariners split their doubleheader with Seattle taking the first game 4-3, and Baltimore striking back in the second game, 7-6.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Red Sox and Twins have a doubleheader of their own, and the Dodgers are still sitting pretty at home to take on the Rockies later in the day.
