NHL: Minnesota plays another "Wild" one – but not the kind it was hoping for!

Saint Louis, Missouri - The Minnesota Wild went down to St. Louis riding high from an explosion of goals in their last game, but the Blues had plenty of firepower of their own Friday night.

Minnesota got a taste of their own medicine by way of a nine-goal – that's right, a nine-goal –massacre at the hands of the Blues!

The Wild only managed to score one goal in a 9-1 mauling that looks on paper like the kind of final score of a baseball game.

Left winger Zach Parise (36) was the man credited with that lone goal, with defenseman Carson Soucy tallying the assist. Not a single member of the team had a positive plus/minus rating for the game, and quite frankly, that's no surprise given the score.

For the Blues, Ryan O'Reilly got himself a hat-trick and an assist on the side, for good measure. Winger Jaden Schwartz was just behind with a pair of goals, with four other Blues each lighting the lamp one time. The Blues' offense was so hot from the beginning that they had virtually wrapped up the win by the end of the first period.

Would someone dare say that Minnesota was "singing the blues" by the game's end?

Over in Buffalo, the Sabres lost to the Capitals 4-3, which still leaves them as the only team so far this year to not have at least 10 wins.

The Rangers easily handled the Islanders 4-1, while the Penguins held off the Devils 6-4.

The Avs shut out the Ducks 2-0, behind Jonas Johansson's 28 saves. And the Golden Knights won over the Coyotes, 7-4.
