Izmir, Turkey, - As if it were the most normal thing in the world: in Izmir, Turkey, a cat walked through the door of a veterinary clinic, carrying one of her kittens in her mouth.

At first, the staff thought the situation was just cute, but when the cat arrived there a day later with her second baby, things started to get mysterious.

A spokesman for the Karabağlar municipality said that the stray meowed for a long time after she arrived at the clinic with the second kitten.

That's when the nurses and doctors got curious and finally took a closer look at the animals, according to The Indian Express. As it turned out, the babies brought in by the worried mother had swollen eyes that did not open properly.

The vets sprang into action, administering medicated eye drops that would bring the kittens quick relief and clear up the infection.

The feline family was then handed over to the municipal veterinary office, where they could recover.

Luckily, the family didn't simply end up back on the streets. Instead, the cats found a new forever home where they would be cared for properly.

A staff member at the veterinary hospital was thrilled with the story, saying, "We were familiar with this cat. She was a stray roaming nearby, and we used to give her food and water. We did not know she gave birth to kittens."

He continued, "This is the first time something like this is happening to us. We were both emotional and very happy to see that they recovered."
