London, UK - The votes are in! The winner of this year's Affinity Photo People’s Choice Award for funniest wildlife pic is a penguin with a lot of attitude!

The people have spoken, and the winner of the eighth annual Affinity Photo People’s Choice Award portion of the Comedy Wildlife Photo Awards goes to photographer Jennifer Hadley and her pic of two Gentoo Penguin penguins. It's aptly titled "Talk to the Fin."

The competition was founded in 2015 and is open to professional and amateurs alike.

Hadley, an American wildlife photographer, shot the crowd pleasing pic on the Falkland Islands, a remote South Atlantic archipelago.

She said of the shoot: "These two Gentoo penguins were hanging out on the beach when one shook himself off and gave his mate the snub."

But she didn't just win the People's Choice Award portion of this year's contest. Hadley also took home the prize for Overall Winner with her shot called: Not so cat-like reflexes.

While the Affinity Photo People’s Choice Award winner is chosen by the public's votes, the overall contest winner is chosen by a judging panel made up of photographers, along with wildlife and conservation experts.

They declared Hadley's other entry – a shot of a three-month-old lion cub in Serengeti Tanzania – the main 2022 winner.

Hadley explained that the cub falling not so gracefully out of a tree was still learning how to climb, in what was probably its first attempt at a descent.

Other winners of the 2022 Comedy Wildlife Photo Awards include a grinning fish in the underwater category, a hippo, and heron in the air category, and a winking owl in the junior category.

But all the short listed finalists are in fact adorable and sure to make you laugh and boost your mood.
