Noida, India - Most animal lovers would do anything for man's best friend - even if it means putting themselves in danger. But three boys took things to a whole new level.

A shocking video of a python attacking a dog has caused a stir on Instagram. But not because of the snake's vicious attack, but from the courageous efforts of three little boys.

News portal India Today shared the clip online, noting that a reader had sent in the recording.

"This video of three young boys fighting off a snake to save their pet dog is a symbol of pure love and bravery," the post read.

The clip begins as a huge snake has already wrapped itself around the dog's body, and looks like it's tightening its grip. The enormous python's attack is surely a life-threatening situation for the pup.

Luckily, three young boys come to their pet's rescue. Armed with sticks and shouting, they hit the snake as it hisses wildly.

At first, they don't have much success, so they begin pulling the giant snake off the dog's body with their bare hands.

After a lengthy fight, the snake eventually comes loose - and the dog is saved!

"Thanks to these kids, the dog was unharmed," the clip's caption read.

Viewers showered the boys with praise.

"Hats off," "brave boys," "kudos," and "heroes for sure" are just some of the comments underneath the viral video, which has been liked over 134,000 times.

As another aptly put it: "They fought hard till the end to save their buddy. We're proud of you."
