Angelina Jolie's daughter opens up about severe eating disorder: "I was angry, sick, and very alone"
Los Angeles, California - Vivienne Marcheline Jolie (18), daughter of actors Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, has revealed an eating disorder.
Per reports by Hello! magazine, the 18‑year‑old has gone public with a sensitive topic in an art exhibition titled A Gallery of Patience for Patients.
The show includes, among other things, diary entries and hand‑drawn illustrations that recall her time in the hospital. According to the article, Vivienne was treated for an eating disorder at a clinic in early 2026.
An exhibition text reads: “At the beginning of this year, I was hospitalized for my ED. I was angry, sick, and very alone." The young adult is quoted as saying, "Eventually, however, the kindness and warmth of the kids and staff at the hospital broke down the walls I had built so high. I have never laughed or cried harder, never been more honest or more myself."
How long Vivienne suffered from the eating disorder and how long she was hospitalized are unknown, as is whether she has overcome the condition.
The exhibition in Los Angeles, according to the magazine, runs through today, Sunday, November 8.
Vivienne drops "Jolie-Pitt" in favor of fully taking her mom Angelina Jolie's maiden name
Not long ago, the teenager made headlines with another announcement: In addition to her siblings Maddox (25), Zahara (21) and Shiloh (20), Vivienne also dropped her last name “Pitt” and took her mother's maiden name, “Jolie.”
Since then, all four of the six siblings have received court approval for the name change. Whether the other two siblings, Vivienne’s twin brother Knox (18) and Pax (22), will keep the double-barreled name “Jolie‑Pitt” or change it remains uncertain.
Ten years ago, the “Brangelina” love story ended, as the couple split in 2016. They have been involved in contentious legal battles over the years, as well.
