Musk tries desperately to get X users to embrace Trump's AI rebranding: "It's better"

Austin, Texas - Billionaire Elon Musk recently tried to convince X users to back President Donald Trump's push that artificial intelligence be rebranded as super intelligence.

In a post to his X platform shared on Sunday morning, Musk wrote, "No more AI. SI. It's better."

The post comes after Trump signed an executive order last Tuesday seeking to make the rebrand official.

The order argues that SI "more appropriately captures the promise, potential, and rapidly advancing capabilities of these technologies."

Despite growing concerns among Americans about AI potentially destroying jobs and even humanity, Trump has insisted it is the future and has pushed for tech leaders to "police themselves" without government interference.

During the 2024 presidential race, Musk contributed at least $270 million to Trump's re-election campaign, and after Trump won, he served as the president's closest advisor and head of the Department of Government Efficiency for several months.

But when Musk's time as a temporary government employee came to an end, the two had a messy public feud over policy disagreements, which reached a climax when Musk alleged that Trump was named in the Jeffrey Epstein files.

The two have since appeared to have buried the hatchet, as Musk has been attending White House events again and has begun donating to Republicans ahead of the November midterm elections.

Some critics have also suggested Trump has ulterior motives for the rebrand, such as seeking to profit off of Slovenian domain names or evade laws and regulations that specifically target AI.
