London, UK – For 12 years, George Clooney and his wife Amal have been walking through life together. The couple looks back on their time together with happiness and reveals what makes their love so special.
The couple praised each other in a recent interview with People, saying they feel incredibly lucky to have found one another.
When asked what the secret to their long marriage is, the human‑rights lawyer replied: “If you choose the most incredible person, then it all goes well from there.”
Even at the fifth ceremony of the Albie Awards presented by the Clooney Foundation for Justice at the Natural History Museum in London, the couple appeared comfortable and happy together.
George and Amal created the Albie Awards to shine a spotlight on people who devote their lives to the pursuit of justice.
The award is named after Judge Albie Sachs, a pioneer of the anti‑apartheid movement who fought for equality in South Africa.

For the couple, the evening was something truly special: “for us, it’s a way to say thank you to all of those who supported us in our work because we’re not alone either, and that’s why we’ve been able to have the impact that we’ve had,” Amal said.
George also shared more about the event: "We designed this to shine a light on people who are risking their lives or risking their freedom to stand up for the things that they believe in, and we believe in. And so, shining a light on those people when some of us can’t get a light off of us, is pretty nice to shine on the people that really should have it on them.”
George and Amal Clooney met in 2013 when a mutual friend introduced them. Just a year later, they married in Italy.
In June 2017, their family bliss was complete with the birth of their twins, Ella and Alexander, who are now both 9 years old.
