New York, New York - Jennifer Lawrence brought some Hunger Games nostalgia to the polls on Tuesday as she encouraged fans to vote in the midterm elections.
The 36-year-old was photographed out and about in New York wearing an oversized graphic tee, a blue coat, and red pants.
J.Law was also rocking a braid – the signature hairstyle of her character Katniss Everdeen from the dystopian film series.
But that wasn't her only nod to The Hunger Games! In the photos, Jennifer flashed the three-finger salute featured in the series that is often used as a silent symbol of rebellion.
Jennifer went on to share this photo on her new Instagram page, writing underneath, "MIDTERMS BB. DON'T FORGET WHO BURNS WITH US," along with a link for information on polling places.
The line is a nod to Katniss' famous rally cry in the third film, where she tells the Capitol and the tyrannical President Snow, "Do you see that? Fire is catching... And if we burn, you burn with us!"
It's no surprise that the Oscar winner is feeling nostalgic for the franchise right now, as The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, based on Suzanne Collins' bestselling prequel book, is hitting theaters later this month.
J.Law just recently confirmed swirling rumors that she would be reprising her role as Katniss, alongside co-stars Josh Hutcherson (Peeta Mellark) and Woody Harrelson (Haymitch Abernathy), in scenes presumably adapting the book's epilogue.
