Los Angeles, California - Kim Kardashian scored a major legal win over her ex, Ray J, after a judge refused the rapper's attempt to have the defamation lawsuit against him thrown out.

According to Us Weekly, a judge in Los Angeles tossed Ray J's motion to have the lawsuit filed by Kim and her mother, Kris Jenner, dismissed.

The 45-year-old reality star and her 70-year-old momager first sued Ray J back in October 2025.

The defamation claims stem from the 45-year-old musician's allegations that Kim and Kris intentionally leaked Kim's infamous sex tape with Ray J and accused them of being involved with "racketeering."

"The feds are coming, there's nothing I can do about it. It's worse than Diddy," he claimed, referring to rapper Sean "Diddy Combs," who had been charged with sex trafficking and racketeering in his bombshell 2025 trial.

Kim and Kris fiercely denied the accusations and said they were "left no choice" but to take legal action against Ray J.

"Unable to accept the end of his fleeting relationship with Ms. Kardashian over 20 years ago, Ray J has repeatedly sought to attach himself to Plaintiffs' names and exploit their prominence for personal gain," their attorney, Alex Spiro, said in the filing.

Back in February, Kris further alleged that Ray J has "publicly terrorized" her daughter and caused her "significant emotional distress."

Kim and Ray J dated for several years in the early aughts before their infamous sex tape was leaked in 2007.

In March, both the SKIMS mogul and her mom denied accusations that they were behind the tape's release in declarations made under oath.
