Anaheim, California - A visit to Disneyland holds a certain magic for many, especially little ones. But one family experienced a special surprise while their daughter met Goofy for the first time, because the sweet encounter was observed by a famous Hollywood star.

On Instagram, Loryn Powell shared a cute reel of her young daughter on Saturday. The family was staying at the Disneyland Hotel in Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California, at the time.

The video shows the little girl meeting Goofy for the first time while her father squats beside her. She waves excitedly, staring at the Disney character before finally hugging him.

What the family apparently didn’t notice in that moment: a famous face was standing right behind them, watching the adorable scene.

It turned out to be none other than actor Matt Damon! With his arms crossed and a smile on his face, he watched the scene unfold, as Loryn later discovered in the video.

In the video's on-screen text, Loryn wrote: “You’re watching your husband and daughter meet Goofy for the first time, but don’t realize Matt Damon is also watching your husband and daughter meet Goofy for the first time.”

Matt Damon himself was at the Disney park at the same time for a very special reason.

The 55‑year‑old was spotted on Thursday at Disneyland with his wife Luciana Barroso, his daughters, as well as relatives and friends.

The group was there to celebrate his daughter Gia’s 18th birthday.
