Los Angeles, California - Actor CW Morgan, who starred as Hank Loomis in the horror classic Scream, has passed away the age of 72.
As People reported, the movie star died on August 30 in Los Angeles. The exact cause of death has not been disclosed, but early reports suggest that Morgan passed away of natural causes.
His daughter, Renata Macfie, shared her grief in a Facebook post, saying his loss has "left the biggest hole in my heart."
She said she misses her father immensely and will especially remember their drives along Mulholland Drive and their visits to Starbucks.
She'll also miss his sense of humor: "Life will never be the same without you and your poorly timed jokes that I inherited from you."
In Wes Craven's horror classic Scream (1996), Morgan played lawyer Hank Loomis, the father of the movie's killer, Billy Loomis, portrayed by Skeet Ulrich.
His character is a crucial part of the backstory surrounding the murder spree and Billy's motives, which shape the iconic slasher. In the third installment of the series, released in 2000, Morgan returned to the role in a flashback.
Besides Scream, the actor also appeared in the western The Last of His Tribe (1992) and the action film Metro (1997). He also contributed to the 1997 video game The Last Express.
"CW Morgan was a devoted father to Renata Macfie, a brilliant actor, a loving friend and an incredible writer," his friend Paul Codiga wrote in a obituary on Facebook.
