Los Angeles, California - Selena Gomez's attorneys have filed a legal motion to have the singer-actor removed from a recent lawsuit against her mental health company, Wondermind.
Weeks ago, the singer, her mother Mandy Teefey, and The Newsette founder, Daniella Pierson, were sued by the company's investors. It was alleged that the trio "falsely represented" the company's infrastructure, leadership, and resources.
On Wednesday, Selena's lawyers filed to remove her from the lawsuit, insisting that she should've never been dragged into it from the beginning, per Rolling Stone.
In the Disney alum's motion, her legal team argue that the plaintiffs' "vague, generalized, and contradictory allegations concerning Selena Gomez demonstrate that Ms. Gomez could not possibly have engaged in any 'fraud' (she did not), is not liable to Plaintiffs (she is not) and, as a matter of law, must be dismissed from this lawsuit."
In a statement, Selena's attorney Mathew S. Rosengart further blasted the claims as "completely meritless if not frivolous."

Rosengart continued: "The notion that Selena engaged in 'fraud' or any other wrongdoing is absurd – and in addition to filing our motion, we are exploring other avenues of relief for Ms. Gomez including sanctions against plaintiffs for improperly including her."
The filing further states that while the Lose You to Love Me hitmaker agreed to support her mom and holds a minority stake in Wondermind, Selena "never agreed to and did not manage" the company.
"Management was vested in Ms. Gomez's mother, Mandy Teefey, and Ms. Pierson, who ran the Company as co-CEOs and board members."
"The Company, in turn, retained Ms. Gomez as a consultant and conferred on her the title of Chief Impact Officer (CIO)," the doc added.
In the suit against Selena, Teefey, and Pierson, the plaintiffs claimed they were defrauded of around $1.2 million following the company's financial issues, exposed last year.
