Could Sydney Sweeney be the next Bond girl? Speculation grows about apparent casting
Los Angeles, California - While it's been rumored that the next 007 has been chosen, Sydney Sweeney was backed by a James Bond star as the franchise's lead lady!
Trina Parks, the first Black Bond girl, told The Telegraph that the 29-year-old would make a "wonderful" companion for the secret agent.
The 78-year-old explained, "She has done quite a range of acting things and basically has got ownership of her sexual identity."
Parks continued, "Not only is she a talented actress, but she has this Hollywood classic kind of style and poise, which really works for her projects and brand."
The Diamond Are Forever star added, "I feel for modern cinema and film-making and the future of Bond, audiences want to see a woman opposite Bond who is independent and has ownership of her sexuality," noting that Sydney "has those qualities."
Jack Lowden and Callum Turner are reportedly the front-runners for the next 007 after a recent screen test.
Ironically, Sydney touched on portraying a Bond girl during a chat with Variety in October 2025.
When asked if she would be interested in starring in the next Bond film, the Euphoria teased, "Depends on the script. I think I’d have more fun as James Bond."
