London, UK - X-Files star Gillian Anderson has opened up about her sexuality. After years of publicly aired doubts, she has revealed that she is pansexual.

As early as 2024, Anderson got candid about feeling some uncertainty about her sexual orientation and romantic interests.

"Now, at the age of fifty-five, I am thinking, Oh, am I pansexual? Am I bisexual?" she told The New Yorker.

Now, in an interview with The Australian, the 58‑year‑old has apparently found the long‑awaited answer to her question: She is pansexual.

For Anderson, the gender of her partner doesn't matter.

Though she's only come to this realization now, The Crown actor confirmed that she has been in same-sex relationships in the past.

"In my younger years, I was in relationships with women," she explained.

In a separate interview with The Sunday Times, Anderson also reflected on her sexuality while confirming that she's currently dating a man – though she's keeping his identity strictly out of the spotlight.

"The person I consider my life partner happens to be male, but I think I would feel the same way if it were a woman," the Sex Education star said. "I'd feel, 'This is my life partner.'"
