Meghan Markle's book with personal dedication to Princess Eugenie winds up on eBay!
London, UK – A book personally dedicated by Meghan Markle has apparently surfaced on eBay. The copy is said to contain a handwritten note to Princess Eugenie and her husband – was the 36‑year‑old trying to cash in on the Duchess's name?
In 2021, the Duchess of Sussex released a children's book called The Bench.
At the time, Meghan apparently also sent a copy to Eug and Jack – referring to Princess Eugenie – the cousin of Prince Harry – and her husband, Jack Brooksbank.
The handwritten note, according to People, reads: "Celebrating the special bond between father and son. I wrote this poem at Frogmore – I hope that Eug, you witness the same love there with your guys. All love, Meghan."
The book was published the year Eugenie and Jack welcomed their first son, August, and had just moved into Frogmore Cottage – the very place Harry and Meghan once called home before they relocated to the US.
Where do Meghan Markle and Princess Eugenie stand?
For the price of £19,999.99 – around $26,500 – the book was listed by a seller named Drive Easy's Signed Books.
The item was described as a "presentation copy."
The seller also noted that the ink from the personal message had bled through to the previous page, and mentioned minor damage such as slight creases.
On Friday, the listing disappeared from the platform – whether the book was actually sold or the ad was simply removed remains unclear.
It could not be verified with certainty that the dedication is genuinely from Meghan. Representatives of the Sussex couple did not respond to the outlet's inquiry.
For a long time, Meghan, Harry, Eugenie, and Jack were considered close friends. In recent months, however, there have been repeated reports that the two couples may be keeping their distance.
