Lindsay Clancy murder trial's "Heroic Lone Holdout Juror" causes a stir as attorney speaks out: "Stay away"

Plymouth, Massachusetts - After the holdout juror in Lindsay Clancy's murder trial defended his anti-acquittal stance, his lawyer broke this silence, labeling his client as a "Champion of Justice," and members of the public have thoughts.

Roughly one week after numerous members of the Clancy jury spoke out about the sole holdout juror in Clancy's mistrial – Michael Desronvil – attempted to share his side of events. Now, his attorney, Edward Andrew Paltzik, is speaking out further on his behalf, labeling Desronvil an "American Hero," and the Internet has thoughts.

After Desronvil issued a statement through his representative, per CBS News, saying he "didn't have any doubts" based on "all the physical evidence, key witnesses, and what the prosecution [presented]," and thus, "thought it was enough proof that [Clancy] knew exactly what she was doing and planned," his apparent attorney, Edward Andrew Paltzik, said neither Desronvil or himself would be "giving any interviews at this time."

In a post on X, Paltzik – while referring to Desronvil as "our American Hero," a "Champion of Justice," and the "Heroic Lone Holdout Juror" – said, "We are focused entirely on his health, safety, and well-being. There will be a time for accountability and a time for the real story of the Lindsay Clancy Trial to be told. But not right now."

He included a firm request for people to "stay away from his home, stop calling him, and don't even think about deciphering his location," adding, "We look forward to sharing more information in the coming days on an appropriate timeline."

While some social media users disagreed with the attorney, not all the replies were negative.

Social media users dissect Clancy holdout juror's stance

One X user called the attorney a "clown" in his replies, writing, "Knock it off with your cringy American Hero and Champion of Justice BS. His family, who knows him far better than you, states the exact opposite. People with morals and values take an oath and keep an oath. He didn’t. You’re a clown."

Another X user defended Paltzik's post and further emphasized his points, saying, "I hope you sue these cretins that have been making this poor man and his family's life a misery. Whether you disagree or agree with his actions, he did his duty as a juror and having discharged his duty to the Commonwealth should be protected from "activists" for same."

The foreperson and two other jurors previously spoke out about the holdout juror, claiming he didn't follow the letter of the law regarding reasonable doubt. In the days since, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has offered Desronvil "asylum."

As for Clancy, her attorney Kevin Reddington recently asked President Donald Trump to pardon the Massachusetts mom charged with the murder of her three young kids.

Her ex-husband, Patrick Clancy – along with his new wife – will appear on an episode of 60 Minutes on Sunday at 7 PM ET on CBS and Paramount+.
