Kenner, Louisiana - Former Kanye West aide Milo Yiannopoulos has been detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), according to online records.
The far-right commentator who once helped put together a controversial dinner with Ye, Nick Fuentes, and President Donald Trump is currently "in ICE custody," according to records in the ICE database reviewed by TAG24 NEWS USA.
The database lists the facility in Alexandria, Louisiana, as the one to contact regarding his detainment. TAG24 NEWS USA reached out to ICE for more information.
The Department of Homeland Security said Yiannopoulos, whom they referred to as "an illegal alien from the United Kingdom" in a post on X, was arrested by ICE at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport on Friday because he "chose to overstay his welcome in violation of our nation’s laws."
According to DHS, Yiannopoulos came to the US "legally" in 2019. However, after failing to show up for his immigration hearing, a "final order of removal" was issued by an immigration judge on July 22.
"[Yiannopoulos] will remain in ICE custody pending removal," DHS wrote on X.
Homeland Security used the explanation of Yiannopoulos' arrest as a stage to announce that the US is apparently offering "Illegal aliens $3,000 and a free flight to self-deport now," per the post. "If not, you will be arrested and deported without a chance to return."
