Filing records recently submitted to the Federal Election Commission (FEC) revealed the launch of the Habibi leadership PAC, which seeks to raise money for El-Sayed's political allies.

According to The Hill, the PAC has no direct connection to El-Sayed's campaign.

The launch of the PAC comes after El-Sayed managed to win a 7-point victory over Republican Mike Rodgers during Wednesday's midterm elections.

Throughout his campaign, El-Sayed faced backlash over his strong criticisms of Israel's approach to the conflict in Gaza, and calls for the US to cut off funding for the country.

The Democrat endured heavy condemnation from the right for his Muslim faith and criticisms that his views were antisemitic.

Habibi is an Arabic term that is typically used as a term of endearment meaning "my beloved," but at times can also be used in addressing one's enemies.

After El-Sayed managed to defeat Rogers on Wednesday, he delivered a victory speech in which he used the term to address Vice President JD Vance, who has also pushed hateful sentiments about the Democrats through his campaign.

"JD, Habibi, there is this delicious irony in the fact that you're constitutionally obligated to swear me in in January," El-Sayed said.
