Karoline Leavitt lands surprising new gig after White House exit – and the internet sounds off

New York, New York - Karoline Leavitt, President Donald Trump's former press secretary, has announced her new job since leaving the administration, and the move is raising some eyebrows online.

On Monday, Fox News announced that Leavitt will be joining Fox News Channel as an on-air contributor beginning on November 1.

In a statement, Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott said Leavitt's experience "gives her a distinct understanding of today's political landscape," and said she will bring "authentic and sharp insight."

The news comes after Leavitt left her role as the 36th White House press secretary last month, which she served from January 2025 until August 2026.

She earned the reputation of being Trump's "machine gun," as she used the role to aggressively defend the president's most controversial policies and often perpetuate misinformation on his behalf.

While Leavitt has claimed repeatedly that she stepped down to spend more time with her family, critics have speculated there may have been more to her exit.

Trump ranted against Fox News ahead of Leavitt's announcement

"Wasn't she leaving the White House to spend more time with her children?" one X user wrote in response to the news.

Others also pointed to Trump's recent posts slamming Fox News for not covering his latest rallies, and suggested that he could have influenced Leavitt's arrival.

With Leavitt joining the ranks, the president may have found a way to put MAGA back in the spotlight.

Leavitt says she's looking forward to providing her "unique perspective" at Fox News, and vowed to do so "with the same energy and candor that defined my tenure" as press secretary.
