Trump calls Democrats "sleazebags" for threatening MAGA with "impeachment and punishment"
Washington DC - President Donald Trump recently shared his latest tirade on social media, calling Democrats "sleazebags" who are targeting him and his MAGA allies after their sweeping midterm election victories.
In a Truth Social post shared on Saturday, Trump claimed members of the Democratic Party were making "unprecedented" and "illegal" threats against "innocent Republican Donors and Party Members," and called on them to be reported to the Department of Justice (DOJ).
"If you would like, send them directly to me, your President," he continued. "These SLEAZEBAGS should go to jail for what they are doing.
"The Senate must act, and stop being pushed around to the point of the Republican Party losing Elections, and worse! Likewise, the DOJ and House of Representatives," he added.
Trump's remarks come after Democrats won a number of races across the country in the midterm elections on Tuesday, taking back the majorities in both the House and Senate.
Critics have argued the results are indicative of a strong rebuke by American voters to Trump's leadership over the past two years.
Prior to the midterms, a number of Democrats voiced support for filing impeachment articles against Trump, pointing to a number of possible offenses. Several have also pushed the idea of impeaching other MAGA officials such as Attorney General Todd Blanche and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
On Thursday, Hegseth shared a video on X lamenting the criticisms and similarly called for the DOJ to "look into this criminal act, immediately!"
