Washington DC - President Donald Trump on Sunday demanded Canadian companies immediately move to the US and accused Ottawa of "ripping" off the US "for decades."

"Let all Canadian Companies that are doing business with America move to the United States, immediately," Trump wrote in a post to Truth Social on Sunday.

"Many of them are Companies that moved out years ago due to stupid US Leadership. When you move back, there are no TARIFFS!"

The comment was but one of many short posts to Truth Social that Trump dropped throughout the weekend, each one lambasting Ottawa for refusing a US trade deal that Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney called "unfair" and "uneconomic."

"Canadian businesses are pouring into the United States. We want to make our own cars, etc. That's what's going to happen," Trump wrote in another post. "Canada has been ripping us off for years – NO LONGER!"

Trump took aim in particular at Ontario Premier Doug Ford, who he has been in an ongoing dispute with over both his trade policy and the decision to rename Lake Ontario.

Ford hit back last week after Carney's government turned down the US trade deal, declaring that Trump can "kiss my a** as far as I'm concerned – we're going to go at him full-steam."

"I don't respond to a dictator like President Trump, a bully like President Trump," Ford said after Trump began attacking him on social media. "I'm not gonna take any advice off a guy that's the king of bankruptcies."

"I've revived, and indeed saved, the Automobile Business in our America," Trump wrote in a post criticizing Ford's handling of the auto industry.

"One of the Worst Abusers is Canada. I don't want Canadian cars, I don't want Canadian parts, I don't want Canadian anything. They've been ripping us off for decades, and it's going to stop."
