Trump opens probe as allies ignite "ultimate MAGA blood feud" over missing Kennedy Center donation

Washington DC - President Donald Trump has directed his White House counsel to investigate a messy feud between two of his MAGA allies over a massive donation to the Kennedy Center that appears to be missing.

Per Axios, Trump's former attorney and current advisor, Alina Habba, told him last week that Ric Grenell, another close advisor, failed to deposit a nearly $6 million donation to the center made last year by Turhan Mildon, a Turkish national and businessman whom Habba married this past summer.

Grenell – who also serves as Special Envoy for Special Missions within the Trump administration – was reportedly close friends with Mildon, and they had mutual business ties in Venezuela at the beginning of 2025.

At one point last year, Grenell allegedly convinced Mildon to include his $5.6 million donation as part of a larger $17 million deal with a US-based company.

Habba claims she discovered the missing funds when reporting on her husband's Venezuela businesses, and was "outraged."

Sources within the administration have privately weighed in, with one saying that while Trump probably doesn't want to deal with it, "If there is missing money, this is a big, big problem."

Others have said that the back-and-forth between Habba and Grenell has been intense, with one describing it as "the ultimate MAGA blood feud."

Grenell has dismissed the allegations as a "lie" and insisted he has "never asked for one cent to be sent somewhere else pretending it was for the Kennedy Center."

"Make him give proof to what he is saying, not make these absurd allegations," he added.

President Donald Trump's Kennedy Center takeover

The drama between the two advisors comes amid Trump's attempted takeover of the Kennedy Center, which began when he fired the venue's board last year and installed himself as chairman. He has since replaced the board with MAGA allies and pushed to make sweeping changes, often without the required congressional approval.

The most dramatic change attempted so far is his bid to brand the iconic venue as "The Trump-Kennedy Center" – a move that has been challenged in court and blocked by a federal judge.

Trump has vowed to continue fighting for the name change and has even suggested he may tear down the center entirely if he doesn't get his way.
