While giving a speech at an Arizona rally on Wednesday, the president went into a story he's been recently repeating, where he does what appears to be an impression of a trans athlete grunting while lifting weights.

But he abruptly deviated from the story to lament how Melania has been "going crazy at me" over the impression.

"She hates... she said, 'You're President of the United States, you shouldn't be doing this,'" he said.

Trump shared similar grievances during a rally in Alaska on Tuesday. While doing the same impression, he also stopped to lament that Melania "hates when I talk about this," describing it as "inelegant" and "so damn unpresidential."

Nonetheless, Trump asked the crowd if he should finish the impression, which garnered cheers of approval from the crowd.

The Republican's remarks come as he repeatedly attacks the trans community and continues to pass legislation aiming to reduce their rights and freedoms in his second term.

Melania, on the other hand, has been a quiet supporter of the LGBTQ+ community since her husband's first term, though she has rarely publicly backed them.

At the Arizona rally, Trump also said Melania was not a fan of his infamous YMCA dance, telling him, "Please don't do that."

Trump went on to describe the song as "the gay national anthem" and claimed, "I got the highest gay vote of any Republican in history."
