Washington DC - According to a new poll, President Donald Trump's approval rating has dipped to a historic new low, putting him in hot water only six weeks out from the midterms.
According to the latest Reuters/Ipsos poll, Trump's approval rating has dropped to a shocking low of 32%, making him more unpopular than at any other point during either of his presidencies.
The rating is a stunning 15% lower than the 47% approval rating he enjoyed at the beginning of his second term. His disapproval rating sits at 66%.
CNN's latest poll contained similarly devastating news for Trump and his cabinet, proving that his decision to go to war with Iran has been deeply toxic.
Only 29% of adults approve of Trump's handling of foreign affairs, according to the CNN survey, while 71% disapprove. Iran is particularly toxic, with only 26% approving of his handling of the conflict.
Meanwhile, according to a recent NBC News poll, 50% of respondents said they'd prefer the Democratic Party to gain control of Congress in 2027. Only 45% preferred the GOP, leaving around 5% in the balance.
"We have a classic battle between these numbers and the political geography in which this campaign will be decided," Republican pollster Bill McInturff said of the midterms.
"The Republicans are still standing because of the geography in which this election will be won or lost."
The GOP is widely believed to be staring down the barrel of a dramatic loss voters head to the polls in November. As a result, Trump and his cabinet are desperate to shift the narrative away from their failures.
Particularly, the administration is keen to tout its extreme immigration policy, which has seen thousands abducted, detained, and deported. They are also working to revive debates around transgender rights.
