Trump's plea for "New America" leads to backlash from liberal commentator: "This man is unwell"
Washington DC - President Donald Trump has been quite active on social media on Sunday, and liberal commentator Harry Sisson is following along, calling it a "mental health episode."
The Truth Social posts from Trump's account keep coming in like clockwork, and Sisson isn't missing a beat.
"Donald Trump is having a mental health episode online, posting nonstop AI photos and videos," the Gen Z liberal commentator wrote in a post on X before providing a timeline of just what the president has been posting today.
One of the 34 posts Trump made within an hour included an image of New Mexico rebranded as "New America."
While it's unclear if Trump was serious about his hopes to rename the southwestern state, it wouldn't be the first time something has been renamed, removing a name related to another country with "America," such as Lake Ontario's latest rename to "Lake America," and the Gulf of Mexico's name change on US maps to "Gulf of America."
Amid the slew of AI images shared on Trump's Truth Social page, one shows him as a Space Force member, where he's seen dropping bombs on countries. Another shows an edited image of the shape of Iran appearing as the shape of Trump's head.
Sisson documented the posts Trump made between 11:54 AM and 3:43 PM. At the end of his timeline, the liberal commentator wrote, "This man is unwell. 25th Amendment NOW."
Trump's apparent wish to rename New Mexico didn't sit well with Democratic politicians in the state, with Rep. Gabe Vasquez taking to X to speak his mind: "You don’t get to erase New Mexico. Not our name. Not our history. Not our culture. The President may want to call us 'New America,' but we know who we are."
