James Talarico shares photos to finally put to rest right-wing conspiracy about his absence

Austin, Texas - Senate candidate James Talarico recently brought forth evidence to finally bury a debunked right-wing conspiracy theory that he's been in a mental health facility for several weeks.

The New York Times on Monday reviewed time-stamped photos taken from security footage of Talarico's home between October 1 and 8, which appears to prove the politician was at his home as he has said.

Talarico's campaign has not shared the photos to the public for security reasons.

The Times outlined that a clearly ill Talarico spoke during a virtual event on September 30, in which he told viewers he had come down with the flu.

In early October, critics began noticing that he was missing from the campaign trail, and speculation began to blow up.

One right-wing influencer began pushing the unsubstantiated claim that Talarico had checked himself into the Linder Center mental health facility in Ohio, sharing audio from what he claimed was a phone call with an employee who said Talarico had been discharged.

The conspiracy was shared by huge names on the right, including billionaire X owner Elon Musk, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, and a political adviser to Ken Paxton, the Republican challenging Talarico in the Texas Senate race.

The incident comes as Republicans are desperately fighting to maintain their majority in the House and Senate, with Talarico and Paxton's matchup being one of the most closely watched races in the country.

The Ohio health facility has since confirmed Talarico has never been a patient, and the politician has returned to campaigning.
