JD Vance appears to get snubbed while visiting his favorite NFL team: "Humiliating!"
Cincinnati, Ohio - Vice President JD Vance paid a surprise visit to his favorite NFL team, the Cincinnati Bengals, but the reception to his presence appeared lackluster to say the least.
On Wednesday, Vance – an Ohio native and longtime Bengals fan – visited the team's training facility and attempted to greet players as they finished practicing.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, Vance is seen watching the team walking single file into their locker room, while every player, save for one, appears to completely ignore his presence.
The only player that stopped to give the vice president a handshake was tight end Drew Sample.
While it's unclear if Vance had spent time with the team before the video took place, social media users are convinced the team intentionally snubbed him.
Left-wing outlet MeidasTouch wrote, "Yikes. Most of them completely ignored him."
Journalists Pedro Gonzalez and Krystal Ball both described the clip as "humiliating" for the vice president.
The incident comes with less than two weeks until the midterm elections, in which Republicans are desperately fighting to maintain their majority holds of the House and Senate.
Vance has also been weighing a possible run in 2028 to succeed his boss President Donald Trump, though he has said it is too far away for him to make an official decision now.
