Washington DC - Vice President JD Vance recently opened up about his thoughts on the end of the world, and whether the antichrist might be walking among us.

During an interview with evangelist podcaster Bryce Crawford, the vice president said that while he is "fascinated" by the subject, he tends not to think about it because it's bad "spiritually."

Vance went on to say that he is "trying to focus on doing as much of God's work as possible."

"And if that leads to the end times, okay, and if that leads to... us building a better world that thrives and survives for a very long time after I'm gone, that's great, too," he continued.

Vance – who published a memoir over the summer that detailed his conversion to Catholicism in his later adult life – said he believes "there are things about the world that make me feel, like, not shocked if the antichrist was walking among us.”

Vance also defended his boss, President Donald Trump, whose alleged faith has been met with heavy skepticism over the years.

When Crawford admitted he was offended when the president shared an AI-generated image depicting himself as Jesus Christ, Vance argued he should be given a pass because he's a "ballbuster."

"The president didn't mean any offense. Obviously, he loves Christians... Did Donald Trump mean to post a meme of himself as God? No. The president has a good sense of humor," Vance argued.
