Austin, Texas - During a speech on Wednesday, Angela Paxton said Texas women should still vote for her estranged husband Ken Paxton "even if we're mad" about his many scandals.

According to The Texas Tribune, Angela gave a speech before the Texas Federation of Republican Women on Wednesday, during which she appeared to argue that even the worst Republican politicians would be far better than any Democrat.

"Because we have more control over that seat and the future when we control the seat, when it's still in the family, even if we're mad at it," she argued.

"But if we lose it to the other team, the nuances that we want to fix with maybe a certain candidate are nothing compared to what it's going to take to get it back, right?"

The remarks come after Angela – who is a Texas state Senator – mysteriously filed for divorce from her husband on "biblical grounds" last July. She later said in a statement she did so "in light of recent discoveries."

Several months later, The Daily Mail reported that Paxton had been engaged in an affair with Christian influencer Tracy Duhon – who was also married – since May 2024.

Ken – who will face Democrat James Talarico in November – has several other scandals, including an impeachment trial he faced in 2023 over his alleged efforts to cover up a previous affair he had.

In that case, the state Senate – which included his wife – voted to keep him in office.

Republicans have been desperately fighting to maintain their majority in the House and Senate. Ken losing the seat would significantly diminish their chances of succeeding.
