Garfield County, Colorado - The son of MAGA Congresswoman Lauren Boebert is now facing a number of serious felony charges after he was arrested over the weekend.
According to court documents obtained by Muckrakers, Tyler Boebert (21) was arrested on Sunday in relation to a video he allegedly filmed in February 2024 showing himself at 18 having sex with a 17-year-old girl he was dating at the time.
That video was shared on an anonymous Instagram account along with other videos depicting child sexual abuse material. The girl in the video reported it to authorities quickly after.
The heavily redacted documents indicate that at least six other people were involved. A person interviewed in the investigation claimed the group shared videos in an effort to make others jealous.
Tyler is now facing three felony charges of sexual exploitation of a child, and two felony charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
His first court appearance is scheduled for August 19.
Lauren Boebert's son has multiple run-ins with the law
Since she was first elected in 2021, Representative Boebert has built a reputation as a loyalist of President Donald Trump, and ran on a staunch Christian family values platform. She and her family have been the focus of multiple scandals and legal troubles in recent years.
Tyler has had multiple problems with the law. In 2024, he faced felony charges after he was arrested in connection with a string of car and identity thefts in Rifle, Colorado. In 2025 and again in 2026, he was arrested on child abuse charges after his infant son wandered from his home in two separate incidents.
In a statement on Monday, Congresswoman Boebert said, "We take these allegations very seriously and pray for everyone affected during this challenging time."
