Marjorie Taylor Greene warns Trump's war with Iran could hand Democrats a Senate seat

Rome, Georgia - Former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene recently warned that if President Donald Trump continues his attacks on Iran, he could end up handing Democrats the Senate in the upcoming midterms.

In a recent social media post, Marjorie Taylor Greene (r.) warned that if President Donald Trump attacks Iran before the midterms, Republicans could lose the Senate.

On Wednesday, Greene shared an X post arguing that if Trump was "dumb enough to attack Iran again before the midterms," Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed of Michigan would win his seat.

She went on to insist that she was not endorsing El-Sayed, but instead speaking up for those who oppose the war.

"It's a stupid senseless war and America hates it. We also hate neocons," MTG added.

Trump has received heavy criticism since launching the war alongside Israel back in February. He initially promised the "conflict" would resolve in weeks, but to date, there appears to be no end in sight.

With the midterms less than two weeks away, Republicans have been desperately fighting to maintain their holds in the House and Senate.

Several notable Democratic candidates, including El-Sayed, have been making waves across the country, and polling indicates many of them will be able to turn over seats.

El-Sayed is a former health official and physician who has aligned with the progressive wing of the party and has been very vocal about his opposition to the Iran war and the US' allegiance to Israel.

Republican rival Mike Rogers, like most elected officials in his party, has largely backed Trump's war, but he has increasingly called for its end amid rising costs for Americans as the election nears.

Recent polls compiled by MS Now found El-Sayed leading the race by only three points, maintaining 48% support against Rogers' 45%.
