New York, New York - Longtime Fox News anchor Maria Bartiromo has left the network after more than a decade on the air, with no reason provided for the sudden shake-up.

Per The New York Times, Fox News said in a statement Thursday that "Bartiromo is no longer with Fox News Media," and that her exit was effective immediately.

"We thank Maria for her work over the last 12 and a half years and wish her all the best on her next chapter, the network added.

Bartiromo had been hosting two programs for Fox: Mornings with Maria on Fox Business and Sunday Morning Futures on Fox News.

Mornings with Maria is said to be evolving into Mornings with FOX Business, which will have a rotating roster of hosts. Sunday Morning Futures will now be led by Jason Chaffetz, according to MS Now.

Bartiromo has been a fierce ally of President Donald Trump since his first administration.

She backed his unsubstantiated claims that the 2020 election was "stolen" from him, leading to her being named in multiple defamation lawsuits against Fox News.

Shortly after the news broke, Vice President JD Vance, speaking at a White House press briefing, addressed speculation that Bartiromo could be replacing Karoline Leavitt as the president's new press secretary.

"I don't know, man. No, I don't think so," Vance said before describing Bartiromo as "an amazing person, amazing talent" and a "very, very dear friend."
