Boston, Massachusetts - Massachusetts voters hit the polls on Tuesday to cast their votes in the state's primaries. Here are the top election results.

Michael Roger Minogue easily won the Republican primary for governor, bringing in 75.8% to Brian Shortsleeve's 28.2%, per the Associated Press.

Minogue will face incumbent Governor Maura Healey, who ran unopposed in the Democratic primary, in the general election.

As Massachusetts is a historically blue state, Healey is expected to dominate come November.

In the closely watched Senate race, incumbent Ed Markey (64.9%) fended off a Democratic primary challenge from Representative Seth Moulton (35.1%). He will face Republican nominee John Deaton (uncontested) in November.

Markey, who is 80, has held his Senate seat since 2013. Moulton, who is 47, attempted to make the race about the need for generational change in Congress, while Markey cast himself as the progressive in the contest.

In Massachusetts' sixth congressional district, former Andover Selectman Dan Koh (41.1%) won the six-way Democratic primary to replace Moulton in the US House. He will face Republican Micah Quinney Jones (uncontested) in the general election.

In the eighth district, incumbent Representative Stephen Lynch (55.2%) defeated a Democratic primary challenge from the left by attorney Patrick Thomas Roath (44.8%). Robert Gerald Burke (uncontested) is the district's Republican nominee.

The race garnered attention as Lynch is the last Democrat still in the House who voted against the Affordable Care Act during Barack Obama's presidency. He describes himself as "pro-life" and voted in favor of the Laken Riley Act, Republican-backed legislation that criminalizes immigrant communities.

Democrat Andrea Joy Campbell and Republican Michael C. Walsh will face off for Massachusetts attorney general after both ran unopposed in Tuesday's primaries.
