Honey Deuce recipe: How to make the iconic US Open cocktail at home

Queens, New York - Grey Goose's Honey Deuce cocktail has become nearly as synonymous with the US Open as the tennis itself, but if you aren't able to attend the tournament this year, it's even easier (and cheaper!) to whip up this tasty drink at home.

The Honey Deuce has been a staple of the US Open – the final Grand Slam on the tennis calendar – for two decades now.

It takes its moniker from one of its ingredients, the honeydew, and "deuce," the name for a 40-40 score in a tennis match.

The Honey Deuce is served in a souvenir cup, featuring the names of US Open champions over the decades, and is garnished with three tennis-ball-style honeydew spheres.

The cocktail will run you $23 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens, but if you want to recreate it for all of your US Open watch parties this year, you'll actually manage to save quite a few bucks in the end!

Here's how you can make your very own Honey Deuce at home.

To make the signature US Open cocktail, you'll need the following ingredients:

  • 1-1/4 oz of vodka (As a sponsor of the US Open, Grey Goose is the tournament's official choice.)
  • 3 oz of lemonade
  • 1/2 oz of raspberry liqueur (Chambord is a favorite!)
  • 3 honeydew melon balls

Once you have all of that gathered, it's time to whip things up! All you'll need is a highball glass – no shaker required.
