Juneau, Alaska – A wild burglar has shocked a family in Alaska! In the middle of the night, a bear broke into their unlocked car – and locked itself inside.
As the family from Juneau explained to KTUU, a neighbor called the police on Monday at around 12:30 AM local time.
A Subaru had been honking in the late hours, but the disturbance wasn't caused by a person – it was a hungry black bear on the hunt for food!
Arriving officers woke the family to find their car keys, but the animal had apparently chewed through the interior wiring, preventing the vehicle from being opened.
A video released online shows police using a rope to pull the car door open and free the bear inside.
The whole incident would have lasted just under ten minutes, and the animal would have remained unharmed according to the report. The car, however, received help too late. Footage shows a completely wrecked interior, torn seats with ripped‑out upholstery, and bent metal.
The family told KTUU that the bear even got into two other cars during the night. It couldn't get out of the Subaru "bear cage" on its own!
