Albany, New York - A cat from New York is currently making users' hearts skip a beat online. The reason is as simple as it is cute: the feline welcomed the new family member in his own special way.

Courtnie Burke and her partner are currently on cloud nine. On July 22, their daughter, Denver Dinn DeAngelo, made her debut.

"Our lives will never be the same!" the new mom wrote from Albany in her Instagram post.

But the birth of the little girl likely changed not only the couple's world forever, but also that of Courtnie's cat.

When the orange‑furred kitty discovered baby Denver coming home, his curiosity was instantly sparked, and he wanted to get a close look at the new housemate!

It didn't take long for the cat to show Courtnie that she didn't have to worry.

In a viral video, viewers can see the four‑legged friend keeping a safe distance from the baby and handling her with utmost caution.

Gently, the cat taps the tiny girl with his paw and sniffs curiously in her direction. That's more than enough for Courtnie to assume the encounter was a success.

"I think he likes her," she wrote in the TikTok's caption. Whether Denver is also a cat fan will become clear in the near future.

In the comments, the new mom reports that the introductions to the other pets – a second cat and a dog – went just as smoothly.

"All 3 of my babies have been SO good," she gushed. "Just allowing them to do everything on their own time and not forcing anything."
