Atlanta, Georgia – A member of the Gwinnett Stripers minor league baseball team in Georgia discovered and rescued a neglected kitten on the street a few weeks ago – now, the little furball has gotten a chance to celebrate!

Last week, the little kitty – christened ChipPurr "CJ" Jones – was chosen to throw out the ceremonial first pitch, as Today reported.

Photos from the game show the tiny animal strolling across the field, coaxed with treats.

The crowd cheered the cat enthusiastically while Ozzy Osbourne's Crazy Train blared from the speakers.

But ChipPurr wasn't the only cat in the stadium that night: His appearance was part of the charity event called Purr in the Park!

Animal supply donations were collected for a local shelter, and fans were invited to bring their own cats to the stadium.

According to the Stripers, each donation earned a voucher for a free hot dog.

Since his rescue, ChipPurr has become the unofficial mascot of the Braves' affiliate team. The cat now even has his own toy‑filled apartment inside the stadium!

There, he is pampered by his caretaker, Tricia Wurmstein, who told the outlet: "One of our staff members happened to just be driving to work and saw him literally in the middle of the road in traffic.

"So, he got out of his car, scooped him up, and then brought him."

Immediately, Wurmstein, a longtime cat lover, knew she'd be keeping him.

However, his stadium life won't last forever: Wurmstein said she plans to take the little cat home soon, where ChipPurr will live with her other cats.
