Woman adopts the saddest cat in the animal shelter, and what happens next is truly unbelievable!
Minnesota - For years, a cat named “Bruce” lived under terrible conditions on the streets. He eventually ended up in a shelter, but it wasn’t exactly a happy ending, because his life as a stray had left him badly scarred; no one wanted the slightly maimed cat. The animal facility that rescued him put the four‑legged friend up for a symbolic price. When a visitor saw Bruce and learned his story, her decision was made instantly. Seven years later, she shared an update with the most heartwarming news!
Back in August 2019, Sandra was scrolling through Instagram during her lunch break. She came across a post that, by her own account, changed her life forever.
A nearby animal shelter introduced the orange‑striped Bruce in the post. “ince no one wanted to adopt Bruce, they had labeled him as a 'forget me not' and lowered his adoption fee," she recalled in an Instagram post.
It was also noted that Bruce was infected with a terrible disease. Sandra feared that the tomcat, because of the “Feline Immunodeficiency Virus” (FIV), had only weeks or months left to live.
Fortunately, her initial thoughts turned out not to be true, and she found out the disease was not a death sentence.
She said Bruce was, at first, the saddest cat she'd ever seen.
Nevertheless – or precisely because of that – she decided to take the plunge and adopt the cat.
Shelter cat quickly settles into its new home
When she got home, it was immediately clear that her decision had been the right one. Within minutes, Bruce felt completely at ease and began cuddling with his new owner. She said she's never seen him so happy as he was the day she brought him home, saying, "He's not leaving my side."
Now Bruce has been living with her for seven years, and she can say with confidence, “It was the best 60 dollars I’ve ever spent!”
Even though there have been occasional health scares, Bruce is doing “great” despite his condition.
A life without the cat is something she can hardly imagine now, explaining to the cat that people all over the world love him now. It's hard not to!
