Satellite Beach, Florida - A young coyote got its head stuck in a plastic container, and the situation was dire. Luckily, someone spotted the animal before it ran out of air!

A young coyote pup in Florida has luck on its side.

"Not all sad stories end sadly," rescuers at WILD Florida Rescue wrote on Facebook.

Someone spotted the baby coyote at the edge of the woods with a laundry detergent container stuck on its head and alerted the wildlife rescuers. Per the group's Facebook post, the caller said the pup was running wild with the trash container, and at "one point it seemed to just fall over and pass out."

When the volunteer rescuers arrived, the coyote pup was stumbling back towards the dense forest. If the animal made it into the underbrush, it would have been unreachable and thus doomed.

The rescuers acted quickly because they were worried the pup was running out of air. After catching the young coyote, they made sure the pup could breathe by cutting a small air hole into the plastic container. Then they slowly freed the pup from the "extremely tight" container.

A checkup at the vet revealed that the coyote was dehydrated but otherwise healthy. According to the rescuers, it couldn't have been trapped for long, as it would have run out of air.

The rescuers returned the coyote to the wild after its clean bill of health. They hope it'll find its way back to its mother: "We adore her but certainly hope that's the last any of us see of her!!"
