Michigan – Some of his 11.7 million TikTok followers have probably wondered why they haven’t heard much from pupfluencer Tucker the dog. Then his owner Courtney Budzyn posted a video explanation – while on the verge of tears.

"I have some bad news," the woman says in the clip.

Her beloved dog has cancer.

"Two weeks ago, Tucker was diagnosed with lymphoma," she explains.

Tucker – who is eight and a half years old – is already in "a partial remission" just one week after treatment began, his owner continues.

"He has defied the odds in so many ways, and I'm confident he's gonna do it again," she says of her "one and a million boy."

"I promise you that I'm getting him the absolute best care that money can buy," she adds.

The Golden Retriever has had a massive fan following on social media for years. His videos regularly go viral, lately often alongside his canine siblings.

"There's a quote that people often say that 'If love could have saved you, then you would have lived forever,'" Budzyn said with a smile. "And if there's one thing that I know, is that Tucker is probably one of the most loved dogs in the entire world."

She wistfully suggested that, if they could all send him their collective love, it might be enough to help him pull through.

The clip, which is notably different from the channel's usual fare – it only features Courtney Budzyn and is understandably rather somber in tone – is said by her to be the "last sad video" she makes about this.

The response has been massive even without Tucker, although his owner noted that she didn't have him in the clip because the empathetic doggo would be upset by her tears.

The video has so far garnered millions of views on TikTok and Instagram.

"I know this is going to be really hard for a lot of you, because a lot of you have been here since the beginning," the dog mom said.

"You’ve watched Tucker grow up. He’s like your dog – but I don't want you to lose hope."

Indeed, giving up is not an option for her.

"It is not over yet. I refuse," she said. "And even though I’m scared to death, I am confident he is going to make full remission."
