More than a year of waiting finally came to an end for a mixed‑breed pooch named Timothy. The lucky dog has a new home and is settling down with his new owners.

Timothy's new humans couldn't stop thinking about him.

"He kept catching their attention, and they couldn’t stop thinking about him. Eventually, they reached out to learn more, and soon realized Timothy was the one they’d been waiting for, too," the nonprofit organization Wags & Walks Rescue Nashville explained in their Instagram post.

Staff were overjoyed that the four‑legged friend finally found his people, saying, "During his 401 days with us, Timothy gave us so many laughs, so much love, and countless reminders of just how special he is."

Wags & Walks Rescue Nashville found Timothy at a local animal shelter in September 2025. The young dog was severely underweight and suffering from gastrointestinal issues that left him constantly ill and lethargic.

After several visits to the vet and a diet change, Timothy’s condition finally began to improve. With that, the dog's "silly and loving personality" started to shine.

Despite his winning personality, no one seemed interested in the doggo until the couple who'd fallen for him returned.

Before the team sent Timothy off to his new home, the organization celebrated his adoption in style. They even got the dog his very own cake, as their sweet Instagram video shows.

"We couldn’t be happier that he’s finally found a family who loves him the same way we do," the team wrote.
