Dog finally saved after being left in scorching heat: "You never deserved to be out there"
California - Rescuer Suzette Hall's heart broke at the sad sight of a small and lonely dog, whom she'd been called in to help thanks to a kind-hearted neighbor.
In sunny California, temperatures have been scorching lately. When Hall saw the animal for the first time this week, it was another brutally hot day.
"He started off hiding under a car, just trying to find some shade. A kind neighbor had been leaving food and water out for him, but he was so scared," Hall wrote on Facebook on Thursday.
Was the four‑legged friend recently abandoned?
The animal rescuer gave no details – what mattered to her at that moment was that the heat was taking its toll on him.
"Eventually, he found a little place where he felt safe. In her yard, on her porch, right next to the food and water she had lovingly left for him," she said. "But he still wouldn’t let anyone help him."
When she set the trap, Hall realized she had forgotten something.

They had run out of the hot dogs she usually uses to lure the animals.
"I opened up some canned chicken and set my trap. But he didn't seem the least bit interested,” she wrote.
Hall then got into her car, drove to the nearest supermarket, and bought some hot dogs.
When she returned to the house where the male dog was waiting in the front yard, she was pleasantly surprised.
Hunger had already driven the furry friend into the cage.
"That sweet little boy DID want that yummy chicken after all!" Hall gushed.
After that, everything happened quickly. Hall took the dog to her car and drove him to the shelter. At the end of her post she wrote, "You never deserved to be out there in the first place. And I promise you, the best is yet to come."
