Simon the Labrador recently turned 13 years old. For some time now, the senior dog has been struggling with the aches and pains of old age. After a particularly rough day, his dog and cat siblings did the sweetest thing to help.

On Wednesday, the pets' owner posted a video on Instagram sharing a heartwarming moment between the animals.

In the clip, Simon lies exhausted on his bed.

Next to the old dog lies one of the three cats in the household, and his dog companion Tokyo sits beside him.

"They weren't playing today... they stayed by their senior brother's side because he wasn't feeling well," the touched owner writes in the onscreen text.

"Sometimes love is simply staying close," the dog mom adds in the caption.

Users simply cannot handle the cuteness, with dozens making their feelings known in the comments section of the video.

"Aaww even the independent cool cat understands the assignment," wrote one fan.

"Touch my belly you'll get better," joked, apparently imagining the kitty's inner monologue.

"My cats did this when one of them wasn't well....it's remarkable and so precious just how sensitive animals are with each other," added a third user.
