Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – When a woman woke up on a quiet July morning to see a stray dog staring at her, she had no idea that the view from her window would turn her world upside down.

Dana Patterson wasn’t even fully awake when she saw a strange and skinny dog anxiously perched at her gate, staring at her through the bars.

The American had no idea how the black‑and‑white doggo wound up there, but she instantly recognized that the pup needed help: it was dangerously thin and covered in ticks.

Once Dana took the pup in, it got a big serving of food and love. “The way it wags its tail uncontrollably while eating 😭🤧💜 My heart!!!!!!,” Dana wrote in a video of the encounter.

For Dana, it was as if the abandoned dog instinctively found her because it sensed she would welcome it with open and loving arms.

The woman and her partner agreed to look after the dog until it was well again while trying to find the sweet pup its forever home.
