Newport, North Carolina – Too many dogs to handle! An overcrowded animal shelter in North Carolina has taken to social media to ask the public for help.

The Carteret County Humane Society animal shelter urgently needs support. They have too many animals to care for and are already at capacity.

To make matters worse, the local animal control asked them to shelter more doggos.

"Animal Control has called us for help with dogs who desperately need our care, but the shelter is full," the organization wrote on Facebook last week.

Cats Woman adopts the saddest cat in the animal shelter, and what happens next is truly unbelievable!

"We want to help them, and we are calling on you, our community, to help us make room."

The Humane Society came up with a special idea to deal with the overcrowding. Together with the BISSELL Pet Foundation, they launched a campaign called "Emergency Empty the Shelter."

As part of the push, they reduced the adoption fee for dogs to just $50! "When you adopt, you not only welcome an amazing family member – you open a space for another dog who urgently needs our care," The shelter added.

"These dogs need our help, and we cannot do this without you. This rescue starts with you, our community," the shelter said.

Until the four‑legged friends find a loving forever home, the team will continue to care for them with full dedication.
